Trying to Transfer to UPenn SEAS...

Hello!

Currently, I am a freshman at Villanova University (Class of 2016). I am majoring in Computer Engineering. I wish to apply to UPenn SEAS next year as a sophomore, but I have a few questions about my situation.

Fall 2012 GPA: 3.67
HS GPA: 3.45 UW
ACT: 27
No SAT II's

I will certainly work to improve my GPA. Also, I am looking for an internship this summer, so that might help my chances.

I heard that ACT scores are not as important for applicants that are going to be upcoming juniors, but I still feel like it might hurt my chances. Should I retake the ACT?

Also, should I take SAT II's for the first time? I am thinking about taking SAT II's for the first time because my ACT scores are low, and I feel like I need something that can make up for it. I am confident I can get a 780-800 on Math II and Chemistry, so is it worth it to take the tests?

Any help???

Yes, you NEED to retake the ACT. I doubt you will need to take SAT 2s but if you want you can. That GPA is pretty terrible too; you should work on bringing it up (although I think A- is like a 3.66 at Nova, right?).

^ Correct, I have an A- average at Nova right now. Still, I need to bring that up so I will try my best to do so.

If I retake the ACT, what should I aim for? I fear that I will not significantly increase my ACT score, and doesn’t that look bad especially from a college student?

30-34 composite, I suppose

Okay.

Any one else have advice?
