Two envelopes came today! Glad to see them. :blue_heart::white_heart::elephant:

Mine just came today. Two full-sized envelopes. Not a swag package, but very happy to get them. I bet yours are there or on their way. :elephant:

Have a great visit! We go this Sat; under an hour from where we live. So an easy drive, but far enough.

Would love to hear a report and any recommendations for restaurants in Davis Square.

Not in Davis - but when my parents come to visit - our favorite is Carmelina’s in the North End.

We will definitely check out the North End and try to get a table there!

Has any international student received an admissions packet?

Foundry on Elm is good. Semolina Kitchen is also good (not in Davis, it’s closer to campus). Be advised, finding parking around Davis Square can be tough.

Learned that last year 0% student got off the waitlist. Do you think this year will be the similar due to a big number of applicants ?

Have a good visit!

Last year, Tufts over-enrolled. They accepted fewer applicants this year. If they have a high yield rate though, it’s possible very few will be accepted from the waitlist. It’s hard to say.

Just don’t want to set hope on it if there is not too much hope there.

In the Tufts folder today at Accepted Students Day there was a colored printed out list of Davis Square places to eat. We are out at 6 am tomorrow to travel, but I will try to remember to take a pic early next week and post it if attachments are allowed.

Today at Bo Day for admitted students there was a parent session and the students were in our own session (wear SNEAKERS, these events today were at three corners of campus, lots of walking. My mom wore flat shoes and still got blisters). In both sessions housing came up as over enrolled kids ended up in a hotel this year. They shuttle to campus. We students asked about freshman housing and over enrollment and my parent said in her session the question was posed to the head of Res Life. The answer from Res Life was we WILL house all of your freshman children, the goal is no hotel. While Tufts cannot exactly predict their yield, the goal is to not over enroll and to house all freshmen in dorms on campus. Esp as only two years of housing is guaranteed at Tufts. Some upperclassmen live on campus, but they have a housing crunch at Tufts and many live off campus closer than some dorms, but off. This may influence if they go to their waitlist. Yield will be the first big factor.
I sat with kids choosing between Bowdoin and Tufts and another choosing between Dartmouth College and Tufts. Not everyone will pick Tufts.

over enrollment, check this out

Editorial: Tufts infrastructure fails to accommodate student enrollment - The Tufts Daily

Nice .parents will pay 80K a year for
Student to live in the modular homes . :man_facepalming: Lines to the cafeteria and difficulty to sign in for
Classes does not sound like a well organized process . If tufts overenrolled at least 100 student a year as it’s states in the article at full cost it’s a 8 million in revenue .

Any WL movement?
