did anyone get a Tufts email saying to not let peers know that they got it? because someone I know got it, and does this mean they got in?

That is a really weird e-mail to send. Are you sure about that?

yeah, it was about an invitation to something and letting them know when decisions come out.

^^“did anyone get a Tufts email saying to not let peers know that they got it?”

…

“yo we’re sending you this email just to tell you to not tell anyone you got this email”

damn. Well congrats to your friend if its true, but for my own sake I seriously hope it’s a scam (I didn’t get one). good luck to you all tomorrow!

I got an email like this one…but mine is from the Director of International Recruitment and the invitation is to an event in Korea… I’m from Kansas. I’m seriously concerned they might have sent it to me by mistake. It’s not personalized in any way or anything. Is everyone else’s about Korea too? So confused. AHHHHHHHHH

P.S. It just said to be respectful to peers so you probably shouldn’t be like I GOT INTO TUFTS LOOK HOW AWESOME I AM WOOOOOOOOO.

I’m afraid I’m the cause of this one.

I’m traveling through Asia (starting tomorrow, actually), and hosting a few events for admitted students. The first one will be on April 1st, which isn’t much time to plan for students who are getting in. So, for a very select group of students, based on Geography (or their parents’ geography), they were invited early.

For transparency, the exact line I used in the email was: “As decisions have not been formally released, please be respectful to your peers who may not have received this invitation.”

Essentially, if you don’t live in particular countries in Asia (or in Kansas for a couple of cases, thanks to a technology glitch that confused Kansas with South Korea), this thread doesn’t apply to you. :)

Well, that is depressing. Thanks for the explanation, though.

so if you don’t receive the email but you live in asia im assuming this doesn’t reflect well on your admission status
