Tufts Transfer Fall 2010

I've searched and haven't found a Tufts thread so far. So, I'm doing the only sensible thing I can do, and am issuing a call for all Tufts hopefuls.

I applied! Wish I had a bit more time to spiff up my main essay though…where are you applying from?

meeee! I literally decided on March 15th I was applying…soooo my application probably is incoherent. oh wellll

I applied as well and imo spent a fair amount of time on all my ****. Ive been hesitating with all the forms I need to get filled out just because I dont think Ill even be accepted and this all feels like wasted effort.

I know how you feel. Doing all those extra fin aid forms, forcing my parents to help me…no guarantee that I’m going to get a tangible reward for all that effort. Plus I just got waitlisted at a school that I thought would take me. Discouraging, I think it’s pretty likely that I’ll end up sticking to my current school.

@birdhouse: I’m applying from the University of South Carolina. What about you?

I’m actually fairly happy with my effort. And if I don’t get in, I don’t get in. At this point, when it’s so far out of our hands, I’ve taken on a whatever happens, happens attitude. We’ve put in a lot of work. Hopefully the admissions people will see that.

I’m also at a state school…UC Berkeley.

I hope so. Yep. At least we can stop wondering “what if…?” or at least I think will. Either transferring next year or else, I don’t like the idea of transferring as a junior and spending half of my undergrad career working to get to another school. If you don’t get into Tufts, I doubt you’ll be able to remember that fact in 10 years. Good luck to all of you guys regardless! :)

I think the big thing for me is that I like where I am but I want to be at a place where the students actually care about their grades and learning but I figure if I dont get in, Im still happy regardless since I enjoy where I am.

I am an international from India.

Hello again, Maelstrom. haha. International from Egypt.

Ha ha. Hi again Lobzz  Looks like we have common colleges. Wait, did we already do this in another thread? ;)

Looks likes we’re applying to the same schools… ahhh life.

I applied as well. Major: Physics

I applied as a Chemistry major. Hi Lobzz, looks like we may see each other at either Tufts or Cornell!

@birdhouse, why do you want to transfer out of UCB? That was my goal coming out of high school, got denied though :(. I have friends that go there and they all seem to love it.

C2H5OH!!! Love ur name :D

Hehe thanks Maelstrom.

I saw that you’re from India, what the heck do they feed you guys there to produce so many intelligent people lol?! I took general chemistry and organic chemistry with pretty much the same ~100 classmates, and each time ended up with the 5th highest grade in the class. The 4 ahead of me were Indian international students, every single time!

LOL. Right from our childhood we’re brainwashed and I mean literally brainwashed into believing that academics are everything. And come on, coming from a country that doesn’t generally encourage anything other than academics there is little option left for one to do. But trust me there are loads and loads of dumb people here. I mean really dumb :)

C2H5OH: haha. Yes! or at neither… Really pessimistic. Good luck to you.

If we don’t get in, we could always… RAM THEIR GATES DOWN AND FORCE THEM TO TAKE US. lol.

IR major here. Sophomore transfer. Hoping for the best – Tufts is my first choice.

@lobzz
Yes!! We should all march together, organize a sitting and show them ‘interest’ :D
