I have finally narrowed my college list to two schools. I will be majoring in CS and I heard that UVA has a better engineering program overall. But I really enjoy living in cities, and Tufts’ vicinity to Boston really attracts me. They both give me fantastic financial aid and scholarship. I only have to pay around $1300 for Tufts and $2300 for UVA. I am leaning towards Tufts but I am really not sure if it’s worth it to ditch a school with better engineering school because another is closer to a city. Is UVA’s engineering program a lot better than Tufts? Is it worth it for me to choose Tufts over UVA? Thank you all in advance!
Similar but UVA may have better links with recruiters
I also heard that Boston has a lot of opportunity in the tech field. Is that true? Or are they only for the good engineering schools there like MIT?
There is a lot of tech in Boston for sure for all schools.
You really need to visit both an accepted students day - even better if they have particular sessions for that major - then the feeling of each place will be evident to you.
Also, you really should still revisit the CSB program at Lehigh accepted students day.
I’d go with Tufts. They have incredible resources, interesting research, and yes Boston is part of the “tech corridor” in the Northeast.
However, UVA and Tufts have a different vibe. Visit both if you can (attend classes, etc). if you can’t, read hte Fiske Guide description.
