Tulane Class of '17 Admitted Students

LetsG0Met when did you receive this acceptance?

My daughter was accepted back in November and never received new login information for accepted students. Have others received an email with notification of login info?

Go here: [Tulane University](http://www.tulaneinfo.org/admitted/login.asp)
Then click on the link for forgot username or password and enter the email address associated with your daughter’s application to get the login information.

My son also said he didn’t receive accepted student log in info. I checked through his various emails and Tulane had an old one (not sure how). I’ll have him switch it to a more current email and double check the old one for missed messages. He is planning to visit in early March for an Honors Program weekend.

My son was admitted in December and plans to visit the campus in March. Tulane is his top choice right now but he is still waiting to hear from a couple of other places. Going to the admitted students’ website, we can’t figure out the amount of the deposit and whether it’s refundable by a certain date or not. Can someone help?

I don’t know the amount these days (used to be $300 I think) and it always was refundable until after the deadline for committing of May 1. I think it is even refundable for some period of time after that, but of course that situation rarely comes up.

$150 is a non refundable commitment deposit for enrollment
$150 is a deposit to reserve housing.

Thanks for the help. Sorry if I am repeating a previously-posted question, but is there a benefit for choosing housing now rather than waiting? Is it first come, first serve?

There is no benefit to choosing housing now, says D2. This info can be gleaned from the Gibson Admitted Student page to which the admitted student has access

Son just accepted his admission offer - very happy! Does anyone know how to sign up for orientation? I see the dates online but no where to submit requests.

I think I read somewhere else that signup for the June Orientation sessions will be posted in March sometime.

Congrats to your son and welcome to the Tulane family!

Thanks so much - we are very excited! He is still waiting to hear from other schools but after many discussions, my son came to the conclusion that this is where he wants to be. From a parents’ perspective, we also felt admissions made him an offer he could not refuse. it is hard to think about paying full freight else where when he could go to a comparable/better school for so much less per year. Tulane is very smart with their scholarships!

Fallenchemist - you have been a great support during this process and a wealth of info - thanks so much! Also thanks to all the “regulars” too…you have all been a tremendous help - especially when I was stressing from not getting an admission decision as early as so many others!

Bloomy, the orientation sign up will open on March 1st. It’s confusing on the site because the dates are there, but the sign-up is for last year.

Yes - thanks - I will put March 1st on my calendar.

Did anyone join the online chat last night? I found it very informative. I read the whole thing.

i wasn’t able to participate last night’s chat. please share what information your learned in addition to those disclosed in the acceptance letter.

Is there a transcript of the chat session?

I am sorry, but it is gone now. Lots of questions were asked over and over (when are Paul Tulane and Dean’s and CSS scholarships going to be announced), but others were ones I had but didn’t think to ask. Like is there a shuttle to the airport from Tulane for admitted student visits, and what is the dorm registration process? Also, I had overlooked that kids at the Honors accepted student visit actually registered for Fall classes. It was in the invite, but it had not caught my attention. And there were some links to some YouTube videos for dorm tours, and I then watched the Butler dorm tour, which has a coffee place right next door. I am the parent, but I found it helpful. The next one is with students, but this one was with the admissions counselors.

Oh, lots of questions about whether you could apply now for the merit scholarships. They just said, not for merit, but you could still apply for need-based aid.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I check here about every other day.

Usually they post the transcript from the chat sessions, but it takes about 5 days for them to get it up on the website. At least that has been the case previously.

I don’t know if this question has been asked/answered already (not enough time tonight to read through the whole thread), but I was chosen as a Founders Scholar receiving $22,000 a year. Does this mean I am in the Honors college, or do I have to wait until the end of freshman year to get that?
