It is for both! It’s another chance for Tulane to market itself to accepted students, but also an opportunity for committed students to not only ask additional questions, but also meet other accepted students from their area. We are attending just to see who else we might know from other schools that might be considering Tulane. Just curious I guess, but not a factor in his decision of course.

Definitely attend! Its a great opportunity to not only hear more about the school, but to ask questions and to get to know your local rep.

Just signed up to attend - thanks!

I was in Philly/NJ on business a two years ago when they were holding some of these in that area, so I helped out. It was a mix, although mostly undecided students. But I agree, for those that have decided it is a nice opportunity to meet others that are firmly decided or are heavily leaning to Tulane, as well as to ask questions about Orientation, etc.

anyone planning on attending the one in Princeton NJ (April I think). DS says that he doesn’t wan to go, but I may insist (this neurotic mom needs to know every bit of information available!).

We are attending a “Tulane Comes to You” event in the beginning of March in Ohio, so I’ll let you know how it goes. My DD is definitely going to Tulane and wants to meet other students that will be attending.

There is one scheduled in our area (sf bay) as well. But we don’t think any questions related to merit scholarship or the Altman program will be answered

They won’t tell you if you won a scholarship or were selected for the Altman program- thats true. But they surely will answer questions about scholarships and the new Altman Program.

A bit off topic, but does anyone happen to know when financial aid information is released? I applied EA and I sent my forms (CSS and FAFSA) in late-January.

I am pretty sure that usually isn’t until close to the end of the process, like late March. I think sometimes it even can go into early April, since you don’t have to make a decision until May 1.

Thanks fallenchemist! I did some searching around on their website today in my study period and I found this: [Tulane University - Billing news](http://tulane.edu/financialaid/billing-news.cfm) It says they will start notifying early-March.

That would be similar to last year, maybe a little earlier for the start if they really get it going in early March. I remember some people heard as late as the 2nd week of April last year, but I think that might have been a bit anomalous. In most years it seems to me they let pretty much everyone know by the April 1 date, with a few exceptions for late filers or other individual circumstances.

I know this has been covered, but I cannot find it right now. I seem to remember that students who attend Honors weekend can sign up for classes whether or not they have not yet committed to Tulane. Can a student accepted to the Honors program still register early even if not attending the weekend? Thanks.

I believe so. Have your child call the Honors Program office and I think they will take care of that. Not 100% sure, but I seem to remember they have done this in the past.

It’s official!!! DS just sent in the deposit! Tulane - here we come! I don’t know who is more excited, him or me! Next step… the Tulane Bookstore website to order sweatshirts and coffee mugs! Does anyone know the coupon code? Fallenchmist? (you have all the inside info). We already have $200 of stuff in the cart! :)

My daughter made her decision. She will be part of the " green wave"… Visit and meeting with Amy from the Business School sealed the deal!

Wow, such great news! Congrats to both your families. Sorry, coupon codes are not part of my knowledge bank.

I have a strong feeling this is really shaping up to be an outstanding class.

I got an acceptance letter today with a scholarship! Not sure if they’re doing scholarships first or what not. Anyway I live in CA and was deferred to RD from EA.

I don’t think they are offering students that qualify for merit scholarships admission on any priority basis. I think they just are reviewing applications and making decisions based on the record of that student combined with their goals for the “character” of the incoming class. Perhaps you have certain talents beyond academics that make you especially pertinent to the admission goals. Whatever the reason, congratulations and best of luck, wherever you end up.

As always, we are curious as to how this affects your decision process. Do you think you will attend Tulane, or are you still deciding among other schools and/or waiting for other decisions?

Hello! I was accepted back in November with the Presidential Scholarship and invited to the honors program. So far Tulane is my only admission. I’m still waiting on a lot of other schools. I will be attending the honors weekend in two weeks.
