Tulane EA 2025 Decisions

So you applied ED for Northwestern, and the result of Tulane EA won’t make any difference for you.

The log-in info is provided in the Green Portal page, on the right side, middle of the page.

yes, that’s correct. Was disappointed yesterday about Tulane, but all’s well that ends well. I am thrilled about Northwestern. Congrats to you and best of luck!

My son was accepted EA with $8,000/yr Leadership award. OOS, no legacy.
33 ACT
3.8 UW, 4.6 W
TONS of EC’s, LOTS of demonstrated interest. Visited March, 2020 just as pandemic was heating up

My daughter was accepted with no merit offer. Does anyone know if there is any chance at merit at any other point in this process? She applied for the Paul Tulane scholarship so we are wondering if this may mean she is being considered for that and other more full scholarships? Just looking for insight here as her stats were similar to many kids who got merit offers with their acceptances. Any insight appreciated…

If she is awarded with Paul scholar that covers full-tuition, that would be good enough, in my opinion. I feel there won’t be any changes in your D’s portal between now and the outcome of Paul scholar application.

Yes it would be amazing if she were to get the Paul Tulane scholarship however the chances of that are small for anyone. I am trying to understand why she didn’t get offered any merit with her acceptance. Does that mean she is in serious consideration for the Paul Tulane or other more full scholarships? Just trying to get a sense if there is any other merit offers that could come her way if she did not get one at the outset… Thanks!!

For those, like me, admitted as of now with 10k~24k merit, it is obviously not enough for many of us. Tulane will have to issue some kinds of scholar at some points, or we will not be able to enroll. Right?

@collegetour2022 You might be able to find an answer in previous year threads. I recall seeing some posts from either last year or the one before from students who got in EA or ED, didn’t ultimately get one of the big full tuition scholarships, but did get more merit as a result of those applications.

FYI: There was an update to the Gibson portal today for my S.

Yes, there are! Oh, man, more documents!

I strongly feel that we did not fail the application but will fail to supply all needed documents!

IRS Parent Tax Return Transcript for 2019
IRS Student Tax Return Transcript for 2019
Non-Filer Form: Student 2018

I did not make a penny, which is clearly shown in the CSS profile. Why they keep asking for it???

On CSS it says that FA packages are coming out Jan 25! My Gibson says nothing rn too but I did have to submit a bunch of docs today (W2s and tax returns and stuff like that) so I think they’ll give us our financial aid packages after that?

This is very true! I was accepted but your stars are higher than mine but I had three part time jobs. I went to a virtual ask the dean session and he said that Tulane is rly looking for students who had outside jobs. good luck!

this is literally my case. I made a tiktok lol that got like 1,500 likes, attended literally every virtual event, Jeff, Owen, Julie, Angel, Carter, and Max know me because of how active I was in chats and their mailboxes but I probably have the lowest GPA in the pool and I got deferred and applied ED II now. And ummm idk if I can afford it LOLLLLLLL

Hi everyone! I was admitted EA with a 1500 SAT, unweighted GPA of 3.8, and in the top 10% of my graduating class. I was accepted into the honors college with 18K a year merit. I also applied for the Paul Tulane award and was wondering if anyone knows what would happen to the 18k a year if I won it. I don’t completely understand the merit process… basically would the $72,000 I was already promised go away because I won the full tuition award?

I think if you win Paul, your full-tuition is cover and you only need to pay everything else on list of “Total estimated cost”. And this 18K will disappear as it is way smaller than Paul. I did not apply for Paul as I want to leave it to OOS applicants, and I only applied for LA Excellence scholarship.

Okay, I have a few questions since I got deferred with like an awful GPA lol, lots of APs, no test scores, a unique/very nontraditional Why Tulane that was 800 words on the dot, AN INSANE amount of demonstrated interest, excellent personal statements, took every opportunity to write a statement since I had to make up for my lack of academics, stellar ECs, and I hope strong letters of rec (although the one I was allowed to read was super strong and I sent in 6 letters total).

After reading through everyone’s stats I’ve really freaked out ngl cuz once again, I don’t have the stats. But I, out of pure emotion decided to apply ED II because I want Tulane so badly and then I realized I can’t afford it but oh well guess I’ll be a 240k+ debt but if it means going to Tulane, so be it.

Anywho, I was wondering how to write a good letter of continued interest and what to include, avoid, tone, approach (make it creative or keep it traditional), etc. And what else I can possibly do. Jeff’s my admission officer and him and I have maintained contact with him and honestly, I don’t know what else I can do. My bad grades are a cause of ummm circumstances after circumstances.

I really want this lol.

also the tiktok was about how much I loved Tulane lol
