I’m planning on applying EA but I haven’t submitted my application yet. Is that bad? I saw that some decisions are going to be released soon and I’m worried that the early admissions process is more of a rolling basis rather than just waiting to review all applications after the deadline.
Absolutely no worries. Tulane is not a rolling basis school at all, they simply choose not to hold all the decisions until near the promised last date. But they definitely treat all the EA and ED applications the same, whether they came in at the end of September or right at the November 5 (ED) or 15 (EA) deadlines.
I haven’t received my gibson login either! my application has been turned in for a while with all material complete but still no gibson info. i know that previous years people started to receive acceptions online in October so im not sure when well be able to check
I talked to admissions counselors at a visit yesterday, and they said they aren’t using Gibson the same way they have before. It will be ready in a minimum of three weeks, and it’s mostly just for financial aid information.
Yeah my application was submitted in the first week of September with test scores and everything(I really want to go to Tulane) and I have not heard a peep!
My application was submitted/complete on 10/09/2016. When should I expect to hear a decision?
You will hear back by November 15th @JPGator98
I just called the admissions office today and they aren’t using the Gibson to track the admission statuses. To track application status you can just google “tulane application status” and you can log in easily. She also told me they just started reviewing applications this week, so the first (green) wave of admissions decisions should be coming in the next couple of weeks. I applied so I will post my stats with my decision.
@pschnee I think Nov 15th is one of the application deadlines. Decisions are expected no later than Dec 15th or Dec 20th depending on how you apply. Traditionally some students hear on a rolling basis so they get their acceptances very soon after applying but there is no guarantee of hearing before December.
@DebmomNY Actually I talked to my regional admissions counselor and he said that if you apply right now you are reviewed on a rolling basis up to November 15th-he said I will hear back by then at the very latest.
D submitted her application on the 9th but we were waiting for her GC to submit his portion. It was finally submitted today so hopefully it won’t be too long to hear back. Ugh the waiting.
I ordered ACT score to be sent to Tulane 3 weeks ago. The admission status page still shows ACT score missing. Is it normal?
That seems too long. Worth a call or email to make sure they don’t have two files on you or something else that went wrong.
@fallenchemist
Thanks a lot. I sent an email and they are saying it would take 3 weeks or more to update due to large volume.
Any one got acceptance?
3 weeks to check to see if they accidentally have 2 files (which is what happened to my son)? Thats way too long.
I think he meant 3 weeks to make sure the system reflects updated scores.
You are right!
Hi there. I am applying to Tulane too. I hate to define myself by stats but I am 1400/30/3.7UW. which I think makes me kind of marginal for Tulane. I have only ever taken AP or honors classes, and I have lots of service ECs. I go to an urban public school.
I wrote the whytulane essay, and I can’t tell you if it was good or not, but it was very heartfelt. I love Tulane – really, really love it. I applied EA, but should have applied ED, except that I was worried about my parents paying 60k a year.
I don’t really have any questions. I just wanted to let you know that I am following all of you and hoping that everything works out for you and your kids. I am sending good thoughts your way.
But its been 3 weeks and the poster’s status hasnt updated? Hope that changes. Seems to be a long time
