December 17th is a Sunday. Are they still going to mail it out then or the Friday before?
@wooeastern my Gibson didn’t update, did yours???
yes mine changed???
@wooeastern What changed? Ugh this waiting & wondering is the worst!!!
Just heard from an admissions counselor that EA letters will be mailed on Friday the 15th and portals will be updated on Tuesday the 19th at 4pm central time!
How did you find that out? Did you call the admissions office?
Are acceptance letters in a plain white envelope or do they come in some kind of pack for EA candidates?
Also, what do we think? Letters sent 12/15 and the can arrive 12/16 or 12/28?
I didn’t submit CSS or FAFSA will I still be considered for merit? Thanks
accepted and applied ED
yes!
@gucci8 - yes. you will be considered for merit $$. CSS and FAFSA are not required. We never filled out either and my son was awarded merit $$ (class of 2017)
@ksuser2022 I attended PreviewTU, Tulane’s multicultural fly-in program, in October and I’m in a facebook group from the program and another student asked when we’ll hear back for EA and an admissions counselor responded with those dates!
Great! Thank you for the update. Glad the waiting time is a little shorter.
kind of a random question- but, does anyone know what the rejection letters look like when they come in the mail? Is it the same flat, white envelope as acceptances?
Just called admissions to confirm that EA letters will be sent out on 12/17…was told by the person who answered the phone they would be sent out on 12/15 and then was transferred to someone who told me 12/17. So guess it’s one of those two dates!
12/17 is a Sunday so it would have to be 12/15…Did they say when portals would be updated?
Dec. 19th
Could someone who was accepted ED tell me what the envelope looked like with your acceptance? Thanks!
According to this blog post (http://tuadmissionjeff.blogspot.com/2016/09/anxiety-and-12-tips-to-reduce-it.html):
“EA letters will head out on December 17th. Green Wave portals will be updated a few days after letters are mailed out.”
Considering that the 17th is a Sunday (when there is no US Mail), and no specific date is given for the portal update, and assuming that the folks running this process are fairly intelligent, this would appear to be intentionally vague. Not sure why. Maybe more definitive updates will be forthcoming.
My D was accepted EA last year. It was a large (9x12) thin white cardstock envelope with Tulane logo on the back flap. Good luck everyone!
