Tulane EA/ED Decisions Class of 2022

fall admit

I got into Fall Semester 3.6 GPA and 1390 SAT

I just got accepted for the spring scholars program, so I’ve got a lot to think about

I just updated the portal and got into the June 2018 admission!! IM CRYING

I got into the Spring Scholars program !!! Y’all let’s commit and be bestfriends. I’m highkey pumped

Admitted for Fall 2018!! 3.8 GPA, 1300 SAT

My D was deferred. Applied ED. We are pretty shocked. She has 3.8 GPA, all academic AP classes, 4 on all AP tests, four years of language, advanced math, etc…1350 SAT (yep, her weak spot) NHS, Choir President, Political Action Pres, Girl Scout Gold Award, Girl Scout Board of Directors, hours of volunteer work for 4+ years, she toured Tulane, did the optional essay and was ALL IN for Tulane. Her alumni interview went really well, the interviewer said she would give top a recommendation. She is devastated as Tulane has been her dream for four years. What do we do now? Is a deferment a NO? Why not just tell her no? How many people who are deferred actual get accepted later?

@kinithia

I also got deferred ED. I feel so bad for your daughter and for myself. I wish we both get in soon, as well as others who got deferred.

But you gotta shake it off, and try to improve yourself: This means more hours, better scores, seize the day!

Just to be clear: deferment is NOT a rejection. It is simply a shift from ED to RD.

albus2022, did your portal announcement show the merit award?

@acdc55
Do you mind sharing your stats? I applied EA and am very anxious haha.

@cat2022 I know Tulane has been trying to get a better yield in recent years so that more people they accept actually choose to go there. So, for EA applicants (like me), it will be harder to be admitted

Congratulations to all who were accepted! I think it will be a great experience for us all to get used to the college life in a not so stressful environment! I am so excited to be accepted to the Spring 2019!

@acebabe are you considering either one of Tulane’s study abroad programs for the fall? I’m going to apply for the Italy one and if I get in there I think I’m for sure going to go to Tulane

Im applying for the one in Italy too!!

First of all, Congratulations to all of those who have been accepted! Secondly, who in this group can add to their stats, whether or not they did or did not submit a “ZeeMee” with their application?

@DABTFL 3.95 weighted GPA, 1230 superscored. My EC’s were strong, too. I had really good recs and a really good why tulane essay. I had a zeemee but I didn’t pay a whole lot of attention to it- maybe answered 20 questions throughout the course of the fall.

@eundertaker8 have you started the application yet? I have and I’m not sure what to put for the enrollment date under the “education” tab/

I have not started we have a long time to apply

@shmurda do you mind sharing how much merit you got?

@DABTFL GPA: 3.83 UW (that’s coming from a v difficult private school), SAT: 1300, strong ECs (Ballroom dance for 11 years, Editor in Chief of School Newspaper & Online Newsite, Reporter for nationally ranked School Broadcast, Reporter for my school’s sports feature magazine, lots of service, small speaking roles in various films and tv shows, and more), great essays, and I showed a crazy amount of interest (visited campus 2 times, had an hour long convo with my admissions counseler there, visited events whenever they came to my town).

I did ZeeMee but I don’t think mine was anything spectacular. I only made two posts, although I thought my answers were good. I think even making a basic ZeeMee page is good tho because Tulane’s a partner with them I believe.
