I had my interview about two weeks ago. I only applied for the PTA. My interviewer said that Tulane was “considering” me for a scholarship; but that could mean many things. His questions focused on my EC’s, how I demonstrated leadership, and then allowed me to ask any questions I had about Tulane. All in all it was very informal.
I called Tulane’s office of admission today and spoke with an admission counselor. He said that PTA awards will be given out in March, despite it being listed as “on a rolling basis”, and that there are no interviews for the Paul Tulane award. Any interviews are either for something else, or mean nothing at all.
Well, there are no interviews for the DHS either, officially. It could well be that none of these interviews are related, officially or otherwise, to the awards and that it is some kind of research admissions is conducting to help them attract more of a certain kind of student in the future. That would explain the seemingly random students selected within the group of DHS/PTA applicants.
As far as March goes, they said that last year too and then awarded most of them at the same time as the DHS, around Feb. 20 or so. Some spilled over into March. The year before it was half Feb and half March. So who knows, but it has never been rolling and never will be. I wish they would eliminate that language from that page.
is there any news about 2016’s DHS or PTA?
