Tulane on Facebook (http://apps.facebook.com/tulaneu/)

Have you all seen that Tulane has a Facebook Application for future students?

http://apps.facebook.com/tulaneu/

It looks pretty cool. You can find other prospects in your area, that share an interest in a major. They also have some current students that you can chat with.

If you join they have access to your facebook! Not a good idea for most prospects.

I am pretty ignorant about the details of Facebook. Isn’t there a way to join a community forum like that and not let them into your personal page? Just curious.

I thought I would check it out since I applied there, and it asked me to sign in and then warned me that everything on my facebook would be able to be seen. It did give me an option to quit however.

BTW, even though these items were sent in 3 weeks ago in their pre-addressed envelopes, this is what is on my status:

Undergraduate Admissions (2010 Fall) :Incomplete/Items Outstanding

Your application is incomplete. The following documents are needed to complete your file.
H.S. Trans. & Info. Req. Form
High School Transcript 1

How long should it take to show complete?

It would be better if Tulane created a fan page. Then anyone can become a fan, see the admissions office updates or write comments without the Admissions Office having access to your personal page. (I am almost certain of this, but I am over 50 so I am always doubtful of my social media knowledge)

I just became a fan of University of Florida admissions (where my other daughter wants to go) and it’s a great way to stay on top of the information curve.

Fallenchemist, perhaps you can suggest this option to the admissions office.
