Tulane Optional Supplement

Hey guys,
I'm using the Universal College App to apply to Tulane. I am going to write the supplement, but it says 6000 characters Max. I do not know if thats just how the Universal App does it or if Tulane decided to do that, but I was wondering do they want close to 6000 characters (1000 words)? Im not trying to be lazy, but I feel like when I write a shorter essay it comes out more concise and clear.

I haven’t seen the exact set of instructions to which you refer, but in general I would not at all feel you have to hit the maximum word count. In fact, brevity that still makes a complete and clear statement is an excellent sign. Not to mention that these admissions people have to read thousands of applications, so they certainly appreciate conciseness.
