Hello everyone! I have narrowed down my college choice to Tulane and Fordham. I know that they are two very different schools, but I enjoy both and would like some outside feedback. I have been accepted to both and have received a scholarship/loan combination to both that would essentially have me paying a similar amount for each. I plan to study international relations or economics with a focus in government. Both NOLA and NYC are great cities, but NOLA appeals slightly more to me. I am Catholic so the Jesuit discipline of Fordham is not a problem for me. I take my academics seriously but would enjoy having fun on the weekends (I know there is a large social scene at Tulane, not sure about Fordham). I am passionate about politics and tend to lean more towards the right, but I have no problem with people whose views differ from mine and I enjoy engaging in political debates/conversations. In the short term, I think that I would enjoy spending four years in NOLA more than NYC, but in the long term I feel that Fordham may give me better access to internships and connections (lobbying agencies, The UN, etc). Would appreciate any feedback!
Tulane all the way!
Tulane has wonderful international programs, with many alums in related fields, and your access to opportunities in your chosen field is more determined by your grad school anyway. If that would be your determining factor, follow your heart and go to NOLA.
Have you visited both schools? You really need to see which one feels more right.
Fordham has it’s own page here on CC, so you can read up on it there.
I am having a really hard time choosing between these two schools too!
