Tulane .vs. McGill

Both strong schools, in unique cities, strongly influenced by French/Acadian culture. Which is best? Academics, social life , reputation.....

I think it depends on what you want, Tulane is small - McGill large, think about the weather, think about your major. Some majors are universal--engineering, etc., others are not. At Mcgill only freshman can live on campus- some say there is a lack of a school community because of that, would that be important to you? If you live off campus, do you speak French? Would that be a concern? I don't know if one is better, they're just different.

Two good choices IMHO. There are differences though:
Size: Medium vs. Large
Cost: High vs. Medium
Language: English vs. French
Weather: Temperate vs. Cold

1 Area Social Event: Mardi Gras vs. Winter Festival

Maybe it's just me, but it's difficult to imagine a person being equally drawn to both schools.
Primary Social Location: Outside vs. Inside

They are so totally different! I've seen them both. McGill has that big city, independent vibe. There is no clear sense of college community at all, kinda reminds me of NYU. The campus is stunning and I met one of the Russian Lang. professors and she was really nice!
Tulane is much more of a college atmosphere and the city is less elegant, more party :) but I love them both. I personally liked French Quarter more, and the McGill campus slightly more...
All in all, if you want a fun, more "traditional" college experience, i'd say Tulane.
If you're cool with being on your own and independent, love real city life and can speak some french, McGill is for you!
I hope that helps!

Thanks -I look forward to visiting both campuses this spring.
