Tulane with ACT of 27 and GPA weighted 4.3

I am writing about my S who is from WA state and does not have stellar ACT but good GPA (ACT 27 and GPA 4.3) He has taken 2 AP classes per year. I was hoping he still has a chance at Tulane. What do you think? Being from WA state might go in his favor?

According to Niche, your son is approximately in the 39th percentile of those who have been accepted to and those who currently attend Tulane. He may not be from Louisiana, but I say he’s got a good shot at Tulane.

Decent shot, would definitely express interest in Tulane and give it a go.

  1. Boys have better odds than girls at Tulane.
  2. The ACT score will work against him. Tulane is trying to move up the ranks. For that to happen, they need high standardized test scores.
  3. Can he take the ACT again?
