Turing Scholars Acceptance

Has anyone found out whether they've been accepted to Turing Scholars or not? I've been accepted (I'm OOS btw) but I haven't recieved word from Turing. What worries me is that they've extended their deadline too, so I don't know whether that means they won't give us our decisions soon. When are they supposed to let us know by anyway?

On another note, I've been comparing EECS Berkeley (I got a Regents invite) and Turing Scholars and am thinking that Turing Scholars is slightly more favorable (not that much competition, small class, eliteness). So would it be sane to turn down EECS Berkeley for Turing? Thoughts/Opinions anyone?

Sorry I can't help you with the acceptance part, as I didn't apply.

I do, however, know someone in the program and they love it. And how can you ask which is better- you are in the UT Austin thread ;) so of course we are going to say that Turing is better. My friend who is the program really loves it. He says that it really challenges him and all the people in the program are great. If you get in (which I am sure you will) I really think you should go.

I am a current Turing Scholar and I had a similar choice as you currently face. I choose Turing mainly for the fact that I liked UT. The beauty of the honors programs here is they're able to utilize the resources of a large school while at the same time providing you with a more personal and challenging education. You will be challenged here. I know many people here who were in the top ten people in their class along with being well known in state/national programing competitions and they face a challenging time here too.

About the application, shoot one of the CS Department advisers (possibly Judith Quinney) and email and ask her if they're being delayed. From what I've heard from my professors is that they're currently reviewing the applications.

@kikib1028, thanks! lol, I know I'm in the UT Austin thread. :D But I wanted an opinion anyway. ;)

@CSNerd, thanks for your advice! Yeah, I'll contact the CS Department about the application. :)
