Hello Everyone,
My twin brother and I both love Dartmouth and are planning to apply ED in November. My stats (SAT/GPA) are a little better than his, but we both share similar involvement in extracurriculars and athletics. I was wondering if anyone knew how Dartmouth admissions handles twins, and if anyone has any anecdotal or numerical evidence on the subject. Thanks
I remember when my D was at Dartmouth, they graduated a set of triplets (I think that they were in Tank07’s class). D has a lot of friends who also had siblings who attended Dartmouth.
@twinno1 I hope you both get in! I seem to recall seeing a few posts last year that some Ivies do try to keep the twins together if they have the stats - but I can’t remember which schools they were discussing.
Right now, I am trying to imagine as a parent what it would feel like to get a tuition bill for twins at Dartmouth! Ok, just pinched myself! (Whew! It was only a dream).
Triplets were indeed in my class year. I’m not entirely sure how much the “not splitting them up” piece comes into play though for Admissions. My assumption is that it would be individual performance and merits first, and maybe the twin grouping as a “helper stat”
I do know the triplets were all pretty smart, so in that case it wasn’t anything close to “the first two pulling the third in”
Good luck!
