I was just looking over the Duke supplement and noticed that there is a spot that asks something along the lines of, "Are you a twin/triplet?" Why do they ask this? Do twins have gain an advantage for admissions? It's times like these that I wish my mom's egg would have split in two.

Haha no I think it's just so they can take into consideration if you have a sibling who might be applying there at the same time. I don't really know what they would do with that. Like maybe they would decide not to accept one and outright reject the other and defer them instead, just to be sensitive. I really have no idea but i assumed it had something to do with that.

i was a twin. didn't seem to help me though. Deferred....

im an identical twin and I wrote my essay about being a twin

But he isn't applying to duke. We are both applying to Northwestern, so I guess that's my hook ;) (Id be really upset if Northwestern rejected me. Even if i got in, I think I might just go to Ohio State because it is so much money for a decent school)

I think the reason they look at the twin thing is cuz it affects your financial aid. It's a serious burden to have two people starting college the same year, which= more $$$$$ for you.
