Two for one: Early ACTION question/"rate my chances"

Hello!

Firstly, I applied to Wake Forest in early November under the Early Action option. College Board says I should know by TOMORROW (aaah), but College Board has been wrong before. Does anyone know for sure about that? I feel bad calling my mom about the mail everyday when I am at lunch.

Secondly, I would love to know what you think of my actual chances. I am half Colombian and half Caucasian.

2010 SAT (640 Math, 670 Critical Reading, and 700 Writing)
640 on both the Math I and Literature SAT II test
4.7663 out of 5.0 weighted GPA (APs aren't factored in until end of the year, so I can't put it out of 6.)
3.8533 out of 4.0 unweighted GPA
Ranked 12 out of 430 students

Current schedule:
Two APs (Stats and English)
Two IBs (Psych II and Math Methods II AKA Calculus)
Choir (Honors for one semester, then weighted regularly)
I also took a class offered by the local community college at my high school last semester and got a 4.0 in it.
If it matters, I elected not to take a first period. I use it as a study hall.

Junior year schedule:
Three APs (APUSH, English, and Psych-respectively, scored two 4s and a 5 on the exams)
One IB (Math Methods I AKA Pre-Calc)
Three honors (Physics, choir, and theatre. Though, both choir and theatre were only honors for one semester)

Honors:
Wellesley College Book Award winner
Wait listed for NC Governor's school for English
AP Scholar
Distinguished List (all As) since Freshman year
Junior Marshall (For those top 30 in the class. We helped with graduation)

Outside of school:
Historian for school's branch of the International Thespian Society
Vice President for Teen Advisory Board, which meets at the library and works to get kids to want to come and read
Am a member of a community choir that meets every Tuesday and Saturday
School choir has gone to participate in national competitions-my class in particular placing 3rd last year in NY. We also sing in the community occasionally
Participate in school's spring musical every year
Attended a summer choral camp at ECU last summer

There are little extras, but I hardly discuss them. I was in Key Club and Spanish Club one year and Technical Theatre Club for two years until a Tech class was created.

I also don't have a job.

Some people mention their recommendations and whatnot. My English teacher last year had a daughter who went to Wake, so I am sure her letter was very passionate since she knows the school well. I had a lot of fun answering all the short answers and writing the essay for Wake, so I feel confident about that.

Thank you so much! Sorry if this was a long read. I just wanted to make sure you had enough information to go by. Haha. Thanks again!

I n ?

I don’t know what that stands for. Sorry!

I think you will be accepted.

Wait, they have early action?? On the commonapp you had to choose between early decision and regular decision. There was no early action option?? I applied for regular decision but I applied before the early action deadline so will I find out tomorrow??

By the way, I think you have a very good shot but I wouldn’t be willing to bet either way.

I applied through their website, and there was an Early Action option. I think I read somewhere that Early Action was only for NC students, so I don’t know if that includes you or not.

As to finding out tomorrow, I have no idea. When I applied to UNC, I sent everything marked for RD, but it was before the EA deadline so I figured I would just be put in with the EA people. However, in the end I fretted enough that I just emailed them to make sure my application was switched to early just in case. I have no idea how Wake would manage that.

And thank you! I really hope the letter comes in tomorrow. I hope you get in!

Yah, you have a pretty good chance of being accepted. And if you applied EA - North Carolina only, then they send them out today (Friday) by mail. So the earliest you could probably here is Saturday, most likely Monday.

I hope Saturday. Haha. Thank you! I can’t handle this. After this and UNC it’s the long wait for April.

I’m in the same boat. I really wish that UNC let you know earlier then January 31, considering the deadline was Nov. 1.

WFU Early Action application sent Dec, letter of acceptance received Sat, Jan 16
