During the revisit program I was talking with my host about courses. She told me that each semester, most people take two courses for their concentration, one that counts towards gen ed requirements, and one elective. I guess this makes it impossible to take two languages unless you're concentrating in something that includes a language (East Asian Studies etc.)? I haven't made up my mind, but I'll probably major in government/philosophy. In this case, would the only way to take more than one language during my four years be to take one for the first two years then switch to another? That probably wouldn't be a good idea anyways..... help?

Yeah, it’s probably difficult to take two languages unless you are a Near Eastern Lang&Civ or Romance Lang&Lit concentrator or something.

With that said, it’s not impossible. But you probably would only be able to get to an intermediate level in the second one. And you could always take five classes some semesters.
