two years of a language other than English - what if English is my second language?

Hey guys, so I came to US about 3 years ago from Korea.
Part of the UC application asked about two years of a language other than English.
How do I have to deal with this? must I take sat subject test in Korean?
or will they understand it?
thank you for your help in advance.

they want to see you took 2 years of “foreign language” to them, most highschool offer spanish, french and etc. just take 2 years of those… you need to have them to graduate anyway

Tell them that your native language is korean and english is your secondary language. I think there are some minor regulations about that, but should work most of the time. Your best bet is show your transcript of the korean school you attend to your current school counselor and ask them for relevant paperworks.

I’m not sure if you’re a transfer student looking to transfer to UCLA or already a UCLA student. When I was in community college, I was advised by a counselor that if you went to high school in a foreign country, English would be considered as your second language. Therefore, you are not required to take another language to fulfill the IGETC or graduation requirement.

Having said that, verify with a UCLA counselor if you’re already a student. Good luck!
