UCLA Admissions

I was just on the phone with a counselor at my old community college and in the course of our talk he mentioned that UCLA requires that students have had taken language courses in the past. Mainly 2 years of foreign language in high school.

I am a US citizen now, but my High School Diploma is from a foreign country. I have an AA and AS in the US and ironically the foreign language I studied in high school for 3 years is English.

I do however speak two other foreign languages fluently, and even took the CLEP test for one of them and maxed it. My questions are:

Is this true? Does UCLA require a foreign language in a person’s transcript. And what should I do?

Does UCLA accept the CLEP test?

Thank you very much

From what I know, UC's do expect two years foreign language for right away out of high school admissions.
As a transfer student from a communtiy college, they require one semester of a foreign language or just proof you took 2 years in high school. I would just take an easy foreign language at a community college then try to test out of it or anything.
Are you applying to UCLA and when? Have you already applied?
