Tyng Scholarship

Hi, I am wondering if any past recipients of the Tyng Scholarship can shed light on my situation. When I received my early write, I was awarded the Tyng Scholarship as well, which provides funding for up to three years of professional school.

Now, my family does not have an EFC of 0 - rather, my EFC is approximately 12,000. Currently, Williams is very generous with the amount of loans they expect me to take out, but will this change in professional school? If so, to what extent? I cannot find much information about the Tyng scholarship on Williams's website. If anyone reading this knows someone who can explain the Tyng Scholarship to me, or knows a source that explains the scholarship in detail, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

My son, a junior at Williams, has a girlfriend who graduated as a Tyng Scholar last year. Paul J Boyer is the Williams contact you would want to speak to for specifics. Here’s some brief information from my son’s friend. For undergraduate and three years of grad school, the Tyng covers basically everything but your EFC. She recommends taking the Tyng if you like Williams!
