What is the usual classes that pre-med major students usually take?

I am thinking of going into pre-med too, I found this link to be very helpful [Pre-Health Advising at the UW - Medicine](http://www.washington.edu/uaa/advising/prehealth/fields/premed.php)

Pre-med sounds interesting to me, but I’m most likely not going to venture into it because I’d have to take bio and chem classes…and I hate those -_- haha

Thanks virak125, that link really helped!

I think I’ll design my schedule similar to the recommended list and join the suggested groups.

your welcome, are you good with math? Math is the only thing that I feel is going to be a huge barrier between myself and following that major because I suck so bad at math :(

Gen Chem
Ochem
Physics (non calc)
Bio
Biochem
Math
English
some take Microbio for dental school
There’s a few more but you’d definitely want all of the above except maybe microbio

FYI, there is no “pre-med” major offered at UW. It is only a track you go on.

To add onto AbideForever, common majors premed students pursue are: biology, chemistry, biochem, neurobio. However, you can major in anything you want as long as you fulfill the prerequisites for med school (ie. music major taking ochem and other prereqs, then entering med school).

As to what major you choose to do, it should depend on your strengths, what you’re interested in, and perhaps what you want to do in medicine (neurosurgeon? neurobio!). None of them bind you to your future, but just keep in mind the different choices you’ll have to make.
