from the Penn website:

"Do not print a HTML or PDF version of the data from your online application and mail it to Penn. We are unable to accept applications in this manner."

Does your college counselor (or the one governing this) see your application and directly manage what you do with it? Or do they just pick up your envelopes and send out? If the latter is true, I recommend submitting your apps online and mail the rest of stuff.

Otherwise, use Adobe Acrobat Professional to fill out your applications on the pdf application forms and use a word processor software to manage your long essays. (The tryout version of Adobe Acrobat that gives you 30 days should work. Go to http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatpro/tryout.html) It's a little bit complicated to use, but gives impressive printouts, easy to edit, etc.

I was going to use photoshop to fill it in, but I guess you gotta either do the online way or by hand.

I dont think the Penn App is Interactive with ADOBE, tell me if you were able to get it to work

Are you sure your school doesn't just send out the transcripts for you and just asks where you're applying?

Adobe photoshop can open pdf files for editing/writing.

Adobe Acrobat (the ones without the word "Reader" in its title) can make the forms fillable. You just need to learn to use specific functions so you can create your own text fields, mark fields, etc.

While I submitted most of my applications online, I did that with all of my recommendation forms. With Adobe Acrobat, I created fillable fields, saved the files, gave the disk to my teachers, and told them how to fill the forms out with Adobe Reader (which were installed as a default software on all my my school's computers). My teachers just liked it because it looked more formal and it's easier to write. I suggest that you use it for your app if you really have problems with online apps.
