My son got into NYU Tisch for acting, unfortunately like most people we cant afford it.
(was # 1 choice)
After eliminating the eight other schools he is now ready to decide between
University of Connecticut & Pace University for a BFA in acting.
He likes U Conn as a school better, but thinks being in New York City for 4 years may be more important. They both have good acting programs from what we can tell.
Any advice on picking? Or can anyone give us more info on either of the two programs?
Thank you

There will be many people, who tell you that location does not matter, and the truth is I don’t think it does as so many successful actors come from all over the place. Many don’t even have a BFA.

That said my own D opted to pursue a BFA and study in NYC, and the resources and opportunities that are available to her are second to none, and she is loving life.

I had a long conversation with the head of the theatre department at Pace and I was very impressed with the program. I think being in NewYork is important for making contacts and feeling comfortable in the city. He can always move to NYC after college. So what program can your son get the best training and what school does he feel most comfortable going to. I think those two things are the most important!

I think the OP’s son already chose the program, this thread is from April.
