U of F Pros & Cons?

Greetings,
I am preparing to transfer and am considering University of Florida as one of my options. I am a student here in Texas and I will be pursing Computer Science there. I have heard many good things about the school and many people I have met who went there tended to like the school. I decided that I would like an unbiased insight, I felt if I went of tour they would say all these good things but some might hate the school so I wanted to get both sides of the picture. I wanted to ask those of you who go there or went there how your experience was, if you do/do not recommend it, why/why not, what you learned from your experience, and how it has helped you in the job market. Any other information would greatly be appreciated  Thank you!

Spring 2020 is my first semester as a transfer at UF, and I have to say that I love it. I transferred from SFC in Gainesville, so I was already adapted to the area. If you’re coming from a relatively large metro area, Gainesville will be an adjustment. It’s very much a college town and there isn’t much to do unless you drive to Jacksonville or Orlando - both roughly an hour and a half / two hours in either direction. The college itself though is lovely. The campus is big and the student body is diverse. There’s plenty of opportunities to get involved and meet new people.

How common is it for students to have cars on campus?

@sherimba03 where I am? Where I am majority of the student have cars. The ones that don’t either make sure to live on campus so they can walk. If not, they take Uber or catch a ride from somebody with a car. As for U of F I am not sure since I haven’t applied yet.

@CTGator I am coming from Texas. The city I am in is too big for my taste. I grew up when it was small and had meaning, life, and was fun. Now, it’s like mini LA and quite frankly I am annoyed due to all the traffic & too many Californians & New Yorkers haha. To be fair I spent part of my life in a used to be small town and then an actual small town (as in population back then was 2800) but the city I am in is almost a million. I personally don’t need much. I just need a gas station, grocery store, a church, & my car. I am pretty introverted so I don’t have a desire to always being out and socializing. Since I also spent time in a small town I know the feeling and am sure I could adapt quickly. Really? What kind of organizations? Were you able to make friends quickly when you transferred? Also, how is the teaching quality?
