U of Georgia vs U of indiana vs Pennsylvania State vs Baruch college in NYC

My major is Finance.

if base on entertainment, safety and academia, tuition and living expense

which school is better?

overall, which school you suggest me to go?

please help!!

Are you instate for any of them? Honestly, UGA could not be more different than Baruch although trey both have good business programs. If you like Baruch, you probably wouldn’t be as fond of IU, UGA, or PSU and vice versa.

Actually, i am an international student

As you know, which school is better?
What will you choose?

With the exception of Baruch, the three schools are far more similar than different. I’ve heard UGA students rave about the business program (I went to college forty minutes from the school), but I’ve also read good things about both IU and PSU’s business program.

UGA, PSU, and IU are likely to have a very vibrant on campus life, great school spirit, and a nice, albeit isolated college town. Baruch has very little student pride, fewer resources, and a much worse “community” than either of the three flagships, BUT it’s located in the middle of New York City. Most of the international students that I’ve spoken to at my new school, one very similar to the non Baruch universities, love going to a college with a real campus, school spirit, and a large but “connected” student body. Very few countries offer that sort of university experience, while the Baruch type of institution is more typical of universities abroad.

Personally, I’d choose IU but my reasons for choosing are almost certainly different from yours.

What is your reason for choosing IU?

Jewish life, strong geology, and a Midwestern location. Like I said, my reasons are different than yours.

Can you afford the list price +$2-4,000 of the schools on your list?

yes, i can afford it. any idea?

What are you looking for in a college beyond simply a good business program?

entertainment, for example, party. Also, the school location is in my consideration.

have any suggestion?

Lose the username. Not endearing to any of these schools. You might also want to scrub all your social media.

Georgia’s business program is great! Plus Georgia always has something going on. However, UGA is also very southern and fratty. Awesome if you’re into that kinda stuff a little intimidating if you aren’t.

hows business program between Indiana and Georgia
I check on “USNEWS” that IU is good too.

also, which schools are more famous?

hi betweenthetrees,
what does it means? I don’t really know about the American culture.

Compare the prices and financial aid packages. Personally I prefer IU. Big state school with big time sports in a cool city (similar to UGA and PSU) but with a much better business/finance program. What do you want to do after college? Getting into Investment Banking Workshop at IU sets you up perfectly if you wanna do IB.
Baruch is nice because of the location, but lags in reputation compare to the other 3.

You can party at any of those schools. The first three offer a more traditional college environment, but one of my close friends went to Baruch for undergrad and partied a lot. You’d be in New York; there’s always a party here.

You said location is a consideration but that’s not giving us any additional information. What kind of location? Indiana, Penn State and UGA are all in small college towns (although Athens is more a funky, larger place than State College and Bloomington. Personally, though, I really like State College). Baruch is in a very large city. What kind of environment do you want?

The first three have well-reputed undergrad business programs. Indiana’s is probably the most prestigious, followed by Penn State’s and then Georgia’s. Baruch’s program is an okay choice, but if you are going to be shelling out the same amount of money given you are international (Baruch’s tuition is a low $10,000 for OOS but the cost of living in NYC is so high as to make up for it) you’d probably do better to go to one of the first three.

I think given your needs I might choose Indiana.

Penn State is cold and snowy in winter, Indiana is colder and snowier/ winter snow longer, both have humid summers but nice fall/spring seasons. Georgia is hot and humid half the year but it’s not snowy at all.
At UGA, students are “preppier” (dress up for class, more conservative) whereas Indiana and PSU are more laid back (flip flops and shorts in the Spring or early Fall, for example). State College is a great college town (a town where everything centers on the students). Indiana and Penn state both have beautiful campuses.
I’d advise applying to all and going where you get in though  - or, if you get into all 4 schools, come back to “selecting colleges” in February or March.

Actually, I got into indiana and georgia. Im stilling waiting Baruch and penn state decision.
Im applying spring quarter.

Thank you for your information.

IU is slightly warmer than PSUl. PSU gets 3 times the snow average.
