U of Georgia vs U of indiana vs Pennsylvania State vs Baruch college in NYC

hi Juillet,
yes, location is one of my consideration. (weather, safety, convenience)

In that case, Indiana’s probably your best choice - good combination of academics, town, campus, “vibe”, weather, etc (every other school has one criterion where it’s “better” than Indiana but none has the same combination of factors you’re looking for).
Didn’t realize you’d applied for Spring. :)

Indiana is good but i have no idea why it is easy to enter
My friend has just 2.X-3.0 college GPA. He gets in to indiana.

our friend is probably full-pay. That helps a lot  because public universities have been defunded (the State stops giving the public universities the money they used to get so to keep the level of academics and quality of facilities, they have to take in more OOS students who pay much more than in state students) and OOS/international fees help with their budget. If the State of Indiana (and others) funded its public universities more, it would be harder for international and OOS students to get in, and easier for in-state students to attend. Right now, the balance is in your favor so even with a lower GPA you can get in, whereas an Indiana student wouldn’t. It doesn’t mean the school is bad, in fact it’s quite selective, just not as selective for those who pay more money.

IU Business is not easy to enter. Most midwest publics had the emphasis on PUBLIC–not on being elitist. Quite the opposite. It’s a cultural value.

I also got into Baruch now.

I made a mistake for applying penn state. Thus, I will not enter in there.

What’s your reasoning about not wanting to attend Penn State? (Did you get into the CAS or Smeal or another college?) This would help us find relevant criteria to help you decide. It’s hard to tell because yesterday you found Indiana too easy and today you don’t like Penn state, but we don’t know your rationale.
If you want a “traditional American campus” for the “college experience”, Baruch isn’t it. But if you want NYC, then   I’d say Baruch is excellent academically but you have to deal with red tape/lack of funding and the fact you’d have to find roommates, a flat (apartment), etc. Did you get into Macaulay or the Honors Program, or “just” Baruch? “Just” Baruch isnt shabby at all  but our comments will vary depending on what part of Baruch you got into.

Apply to all. Don’t use any more energy on this until you get in and know your final cost. Spend your time on the very best application -to each- that you can.

I applied to different campus but not university park. Thus, I am not able to enter in smeal college

What does it mean for Macaulay or the Honors Program? I have no idea what is it.

Ok, so you wouldn’t be attending UP right away, but a branch campus as part of the 2+2 program (ie, going to Main Campus for the last 2 years and Smeal if you get a high GPA during those first two years)? In that case, Indiana is the best choice among the two. Or did you get into something else than the main campus for Indiana too?
Honors Programs are programs at large universities. They’re meant for the most motivated, highest-scoring students. Since you didn’t apply, you wouldn’t be admitted. MAcaulay is a sort of super-honors for all of the CUNYs.

Can I apply the honor program right now or after I enter in there?

IU is good but boring and higher tuition. Thus, I am thinking right now.

Look at the website for specific conditions. Typically during your second semester, if you’ve maintained a high average, you’d be allowed to apply to the Honors Program (not to Macaulay). Same thing at every university on your list.

I don’t think IU is boring, and I know Penn state UP isn’t. PSU is closer to major city centers (there are weekend buses to go to NYC, for example, you can go to Philadelphia, Washington DC, Baltimore – much easier to get to big cities), but Baruch IS IN a city  No campus though. UGA is also closer to Atlanta and the weather is hotter/muggier (it’s humid May-September, but March-April and October-November are pretty perfect.)
What branch campus did you get into? Abington and Erie aren’t quite the same…
So right now you don’t like PSU and IU, and UGA + Baruch are the contenders? Did I get this right?

for me, baruch > iu > UGA.
As I said before, I will not go to PSU because im not applying university park campus.

Im thinking of these three schools

You’ve been admitted to Baruch, so essentially you’ve made up your mind now.
if I may ask, why didn’t you apply to PSU-UP? If you got into the other main schools without a 2+2 program, you should have gotten into UP too. OH well. Water under the bridge. :)

actually, I want to apply there too.
However, I just made a mistake that I applied another campus in psu.
also, it cannot change the campus this moment.

do you think that studying in baruch is a good choice? For my research, baruch’s business program is not bad?

Baruch is excellent for business, finance, etc. However it’s not a “typical college experience” since there’s not a real campus and it’s essentially a commuter school so there’s very little school spirit, activities, etc.

yes, I got it. im considering.

have someone been these schools?
or know about these schools?
please talk about it.
