U of I-Urbana Champaign chemical and biomolecular engineering department...good?

Exactly how good is the Chemical and Biomolecular engineering department at U of I? I mean, I would rather just major in Chemical Engineering, but for some reason, I can't find just Chemical Engineering on their majors list. So, exactly how good is the combined department? I'm just afraid that if I decide to major in that, I'll end up not truly mastering anything...I'll just kind of dabble a bit in Chemistry and Biomolecular engineering. You know what I mean? haha

Thanks!

It’s good. Ranks 7th in the Chemical Engineering subcategory of Best Undergrad Engineering Schools. I can’t explain it any better than they do on their website. Have you been there yet?

Amazing how phraseology can throw applicants off. Chemical and Biomolecur engineering was previously just called chemical engineering. The name changed in 2002 to reflect the growing influence that biological and genetic reseach had on chemical engineering. Now the major is divided into two “concentrations” – chemical or biomolecular and you can choose which one to pursue, see description and course requirements here: [Course Information Suite, Course Catalog, Class Schedule, Programs of Study, General Education Requirements, GenEd](<a href=“Course Explorer”>Course Explorer)
