Does anyone have information and/or opinions about this program? How many people audition and how many people are accepted?

From what I understand the program is very good. Two kids from my daughter’s studio were accepted–both were exceptional students and very talented dancers.

I had thought it was pretty ballet-focused but after looking at the department’s website now I am not so sure.

My D auditioned for this program to start in 2010. SHe loved it. For her she found it a good mix of solid ballet and modern. It was her first choice school untl financial aide packages came out and there was no way we could afford out of state tuition. The ballet program is strong, wth some very wonderful teachers who have produced professional dancers. I don’t know what the universities record of professionals is.WHen she auditioned for the 2010 there were about 25 in her audition group, this was pretty average for audtion dates, so you can probably estimate total auditionees from this.
D was accepted but they have only 1 talent scholarship- which she did not receive.

My D loved the studios and campus. She had thought she wanted to bigger university and this was what she imagined it to be. In the end she ended up at Point Park with a healthy academic and talent award.

Thanks for the great information. I appreciate it.
