U of M- Ann Arbor chances

Hey guys! My biggest dream is to be a wolverine and I would LOVE if you all could give me your input/ideas.

HS Stats:
3.16 (UW)/ 3.29 (W) GPA
23 ACT
"Hard classes": AP European History-(B+/A), Honors Trig & Precalc (B+/B) and Honors Anatomy & Physiology (A-/A-)
Ranked top 45%
ECs: Choir (4 years), Cheerleading -_- (2 years), and occasional community service opportunities

I went to Mattawan High School which is a class A, rigorous school. I completely ruined my dreams by doing absolutely horrible during my freshman & sophomore year. (avg. gpa ~2.3) but my junior and senior years, I really turned myself around and didn't my semester gpas were ~3.7-4.1

I am now a sophomore at Western Michigan University, and I am extremely unhappy where I'm at. I wrote in several essays that WMU does not offer the UROP program, BCN (neuroscience major) and does not have a good AMSA (premedical) club.

WMU GPA: 3.875 w/ 31 credits completed
EC's: Soloist in NSA A Cappella group, member in AMSA, Lee Honors College student, invited to join Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, Dean's list first two semesters, Volunteer (Patient Rep) at Borgess Hospital, and Sales Associate at Old Navy.

I also took a 5 credit calculus class at KVCC during the summer
KVCC GPA: 4.0

I have a total of 36 credits completed, updated my previous application to LSA for Winter 2014 term, and had everything submitted by Sep. 4th. I am currently taking 18 credits at WMU, so if I am to be admitted (hopefully) I will be entering UM with 54 completed credits.

Chances? :(

I think you will have a decent chance. A 3.875 at WMU is a great GPA to attempt to transfer in with. Good luck.

Isn’t Mattawan in NJ? If so, are you an out of state student? Can you afford the out of state tuition?

If so I think you seem to have really good reasons for transferring in, and U Mich AA is such a huge school I would bet they would be happy to fill seats of in-state kids who are transferring out/down with students paying more. Or am I missing something?

Mattawan is near Kalamazoo, MI. I’m in state and have lived here my whole life. Idk if that helps my chances really? I do know it’s extremely hard to transfer in though, and they do prefer to accept juniors. I would be halfway through my sophomore year, but I am ahead in credits than the typical first semester sophomore.

Oh and yes. Since I am not OOS, I would not be paying 50,000 a year. Or however much it is.
