I give up. I have e-mailed the Admissions office twice and haven't gotten an answer. Maybe one of you all know:

I read on this board that U of M calculates GPA differently. They don't use Freshman grades. They also only use core classes. Would architecture be considered a core class? What about taking science as an elective? Son is taking Chemistry, but is also taking Human Physiology & Anatomy. Will that grade count toward his GPA for admission?

That's strange that they haven't responded to you. How long have you given them to respond? It may take them a few days. (It's also a strange feeling knowing that I'm only a few buildings away from the admissions office right now. :))

I believe that they count core courses as being math, science, English, foreign language, and history/social science courses. (Am I missing anything?) However, I have the e-mail address of an admissions rep. that visited my school last year if you would like to PM me for it. I just don't want to post it here and at this time of the year because there are so many people on this board looking for answers to their questions right now. She would probably get overwhelmed with mail if I did so.

I'm glad to hear you did hear back. I know they take a lot of pride in the completeness of their webside, and along with that their promptness in answering questions for the odd item that isn't covered.
