U of O vs U of A?

Hello everyone.
I'm a high school senior and I've been accepted to both Uni of Oregon and Uni of Arizona. I'm looking to enter biology and pair it with a focus in something non-scientific. I'm currently deciding between these two schools and would appreciate any comments/opinions/advice!
-I live in the East Bay, CA.
-Female
-Interested in student government, leadership, journalism
-Love sports and being outside
-Enjoy sunshine, don't mind rain, love snow, okay with hot temperatures

The number one thing that is pushing me toward U of A is that I received a 12K scholarship from them. However, I love the college town feel of Eugene and the granola population are my people!

U of O does have a nationally recognized journalism school, if that carries any weight. But if you love being outside, go with Arizona. The worst/hottest time is in summer, and you’ll be back in cool NoCal by then. Your scholarship is nothing to sneeze at either. Socially/culturally, Eugene is a good fit but you really have to consider the weather. It isn’t uncommon to go weeks without seeing the sun. Our best weather is in summer (and it’s fabulous!), but that’s when you’ll be gone. Many people from CA have a hard time adjusting to the drizzle and gloominess. I feel like I’ve been no help at all. Wish I knew more about U of A. U of O is ranked slightly higher overall by US News but I suspect Arizona’s biology program may be stronger. Hopefully someone with more knowledge about that will reply. Good luck!

Be sure you check out the Summit and Apex scholarships at Oregon. They are pretty good to OOS students, and the test score levels and GPA’s for those scholarships are achievable for many students. They’re really trying to attract good students from out of state. My daughter is seriously considering U of O honors college vs. some very good privates.
