This is last minute procrastination but I still haven't made up my mind about going to either Puget Sound or UCSB for a double major in biology and flute performance. The biggest problem seems to be I have no idea how good the biology program is a Puget Sound... any information?

I assume you are going to some type of graduate school in biology? You can go to grad school from either school. Which environment do you like better? They are very different school types.

If grad school is in the picture, you should also consider cost differences.

Santa Barbara has the reputation. Puget Sound is unknown outside of California and Washington. UCSB is pretty good for sciences and its cheaper. Go with UCSB>

Puget Sound’s name recognition is on the upswing. People are starting to know about it since it is now listed in College’s That Change Lives. We are here in New York considering it.

Im, not sure if I am going to grad school in music or biology just yet, but UCSB and Puget Sound will cost about the same due to scholarships from UoPS.

You’ll get a good education at both. What are you looking for in a college? SB is much larger, while UPS is more intimate with a more “family” feel. Southern California gorgeous beaches vs. Northwest gorgeous green beauty. SB has more of a “party” reputation, though you will certainly find very serious scholars there as well. Perhaps I should phrase it as, you may find more distractions at SB if you’re the distractible type.
