I was checking my portal and I noticed that the admissions team had reviewed my first choice major, but did not look at my 2nd or 3rd choices. Does this mean they are considering me for my 1st choice, or that I am so unqualified that they didn’t look at the other two choices? Or maybe they just didn’t have time to look at it, although I did submit in December. Please let me know if u have found that you’re in a similar situation/have had this experience before.
What were your choices? Its probably that your 2nd and 3rd choices haven’t started reviewing any applications yet or are in the process but your application is deep down in their list because many people may have applied before december.
They’re still reviewing everyone else. If you don’t merit an admission for your first choice once they’ve reviewed everyone and decided who they’ll admit, they’ll decide if you merit an admission for your second choice. If you don’t merit an admission for your second choice, they’ll move on to your third choice. They don’t do them all at once.
@bouders, In fact, for me they already gave a decision for my second choice while I am still waiting to hear back from my first choice.
@IlluminatiIsReal sReal Which campus and which program(s)?
I put Engineering as first choice and Computer Science as second - both at the St. George (main) campus. I already received decision from Computer Science but nothing from Engineering.
Thanks, everyone! I applied for the bachelor of architecture program and I still need to submit the supplemental part of it (due feb 1st). I know this wasn’t a wise decision but I’m a US student and I had to get US apps out of the way first. I hope that after I submit, they will make a decision.
Computer science and engineering are two different faculties and the admission processes are completely separate. and independent of each other.
@hanmoss The portfolio is a very important part of the architecture application. They won’t even start to look at your application without it.
Yeah but you can’t have two choices in the same faculty anyways
U of T engineering allows you to rank choices.
I didn’t have a portfolio with pictures or anything but I wrote the essay. The Daniels Faculty of Architecture website says that this was not a requirement. Do you think this will be okay? @bouders
@hanmoss I assumed architecture had a portfolio requirement. My bad. It’s just the essay. You’re fine.
