Hope some one here has some pointers. I received an email from UT Dallas saying I am admitted I logged in and accepted the admission in student portal of Orion. But nowhere can I see which program I have got admitted to? It just says undergraduate 2014 fall. Anyone else in similar situation. My first choice was computer science and second choice was physics. Any insights will be appreciated.

They usually send you something by mail – a folder with congratulations and info about the potential major you indicated on your application. Unless you said you were “undecided” or didn’t indicate a major then.
If you are unsure what it means, just call the admissions office. (I don’t think it matters much at this point. . .if you change your mind between now and orientation when you sign up for classes, you can just switch then. My S did that).

Guess I will wait for the snail mail and If I don’t have clarity I will have to contact the admissions office. Thank you.

I don’t think they admit you into a particular school/program. They just admit you–and you can decide later. (S’s letter just mentioned acceptance to UTD, not to school of engineering/cs, but an info sheet about eng/cs was included.) I think they like to have an idea of how many people are interested in which majors, but a lot of applicants are undecided. So if you are worried about not getting into CS, I doubt that will be an issue.

Undergrad (freshman AND transfer) are admitted to the major they select as first choice on the apply texas application. The Office of Admission and Enrollment Services does not use the second choice selection.

If you would like to change your major, it is easy to do at freshman orientation.

Thanks for the clarification.
