U.Va EA, William and Mary Regular Decision

White male

SAT: 730 CR, 700 M, 670 W

GPA: 3.84 UW, 4.32 W

Rank- 33/445

AP/DE Courses: Basically everything my school offers besides AP Latin because I couldn't handle any more past Latin IV

Freshman- AP European History (3)

Sophomore- DE Biology, AP Government (5)

Junior- DE Chemistry, AP Language and Composition (5), APUSH, AP Psych (5), AP Environmental Science, AP Calculus BC (3)- 4 AB subscore)

Senior- AP English Literature, AP Human Geography, AP Stats, AP Macroecon, AP Microecon, AP Physics B

Honors- I'm part of a program called the Commonwealth Governor's School (CGS) that accepts 30 students per grade for each site. There are 5 sites across the state. CGS kids have their own wing of the school for half of the day in which they take their core (English, math, history, science) courses. Electives are taken outside of CGS. The CGS program is one of the highest academic honors in the state of Virginia. All CGS courses are AP starting from Junior year, which is why I have so many AP courses. The rest of the school doesn't have access to that kind of rigor, which sort of inflates our rank. The top 25 slots are almost always filled with CGS kids.

ECs- Not very strong. No leadership roles at all. I work a LOT though, so hopefully that makes up for it.

Work (I'm a waiter)- 22 hrs/week (11,12)
Latin Club (9,10,11)
Latin Honor Society (10,11)
Certamen (basically Latin knowledge competitions) (10,11)
Psychology Club (10,11,12)
Chesapeake Bay Saver (tree hugger stuff) (11,12)

Community Service: Tutoring and a few other things. Not too great

Essays are really strong

Chance me at U.Va, W&M, NYU

Uva safety. William and Mary high reach. NYU reach

@DEMONchild

Saftey UVA but high reach William and Mary???

UVA is a much harder school to get into. I know plenty of qualified student who get rejected by UVA and end up at William and Mary. I’d say reach for UVA but lower reach for W&M and NYU

high match/low reach for all three
I’d say UVA is only slightly more difficult to get into than W&M. Also, I do think the admissions officers will take into account the fact that you work a lot when looking at your ec’s, especially if you are needed to work to help out your family.
2013 is admission rate: 42.2% :), os admission: 24.6%
