Hello, all.

I’m going to be a freshman this fall (Class of 2016) and I have a few questions/concerns about the academics of UA.

Are the professors helpful if you have questions, etc?

I’m just really nervous about college life, because all of my friends (who are at UA) say that they are studying almost every other day and the exams are killer. I have no problem studying and staying dedicated, but it almost sounds like the midterms/finals are impossible. Is it?

I have to maintain a 3.0 GPA to keep all of my scholarships offered from Fayetteville, so that’s more pressure.

Thanks for the assistance!

OMG…don’t know about what profs you’ll have, but mine are fantastic! What will you study? I’m in their Bumpers College, majoring in Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences. Yeah, I have to study so that, like you, I keep my scholarship and stay in the Honors College. But wouldn’t that be the case no matter where you go?

Every time I have questions, like with my bane: Organic Chemistry class, the profs are super approachable and helpful. One even sends me emails from time to time just to catch up. It sounds like you are the type of student who will succeed because you’re willing to work hard. THAT will endear you to your profs, and they will go out of their way to help you.

Good luck to you and keep a positive attitude. You’ll have a much better time if you do!

I’m an English/Creative Writing major, not doing honors! The classes I’m taking so far:

Comp I
College Alg (with drill)
Art History Lecture
World Lit
American Nat. Govt.

They’re basics because I’m a freshman, but I hope I can handle it. I’m really, REALLY dedicated to studying, but I just don’t want it to be impossible. Thank you for your reply! :)
