UA Tutoring Center Needs Chem Tutors

If you’re able to tutor Chemistry students, then this may be a part-time job for you.

The Center for Academic Success (CAS) at UA is in need of chemistry
tutors. *This is a great opportunity for those of you who enjoy
teaching or would like teaching experience. *It is also an
accommodating place of employment and a friendly work environment on
campus. (CAS tutoring looks great on resumes because it is through the
university, and it provides enthusiastic letters of recommendation.)

Prospective tutors need at least a 3.0 GPA in chemistry and should
have completed at least the general chemistry sequence. *As a tutor,
you would be teaching mostly general and organic chemistry.

If interested, please email Anthony Winston (winston@ua.edu) or Henk Both
(jhboth@crimson.ua.edu).

Both of my kids worked part-time for the tutoring center. I think it helped keep certain concepts fresh in their heads.

You should also apply to the Center for Athletic Student Services (the student-athlete tutoring service). They may still be hiring chemistry tutors for this semester, but they definitely will need them in the fall. The pay is very nice for part-time work (that athletic money definitely gets spent).

The application can be found at [ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE - University of Alabama Official Athletic Site - Athletics](http://www.rolltide.com/ot/cass.html) near the top of page or contact Brenda Elliott, Assistant Director, Athletic Academic Programs - Student Services - belliott@ia.ua.edu
