I just finished my junior year in high school, and I’ve been looking into this college. I saw that you can get a dorm room all to yourself (the Studio Suite) and I was wondering if this was available for first-year students or just sophomores. Also, I was wondering if you had to be in the Honors program to get one of these dorm rooms.
And the other thing I wanted to know about is something I saw on the admission requirements. It said that you need to have 4 social studies credits throughout high school to be able to attend UAH. I assume this is an Alabama thing because I’m out-of-state, and in my state, you just require 3 social studies credits, so that’s all I will have when I graduate. Will I still be able to go here?
Also, how is Greek life here?
Someone at UAH admissions told me 3 social studies would be fine as long as your high school accepts it and graduates you.
You can get our own room as a freshman. My son lived in CCRH, and he had his own room and shared bath. Frank Franz is the honors dorm, and again, you can have your own room there if you are in the honors program.
As for Greek Life, my son has been with his fraternity since his first year at UAH, and he loves it. Really nice young men who are community-minded. They know how to have fun, but they are also well-aware of their academics. Most of his brothers are engineering majors with co-ops or internships in Huntsville. This will also be his third year living in the fraternity house. He has his own room and shared bath.
