This is for all those students who have been accepted into UB Honors College for the Class of 2018. Congratulations! Share your excitement, stats and awards if you wish!

I recieved my acceptance letter today and I was honestly surprised.

GPA - 94.077
ACT - 31

I am quite conflicted because I am extremely nervous about the courseload. I don’t want to be freaking out my first semester I’m not sure if it’s possible to decline the honors college and just go in as a regular? I don’t know what I’m gonna do, I’m just really afraid I won’t be able to handle it! D:

Rachel- Son is a recent UB grad. He was awarded a merit scholarship and Honors Program. He turned down the Honors as he had enough to do (ended up with BS in Mech. Eng and BS in Aerospace Eng in 4 years. He had enough work on his hands and did not matter at all. He still kept the scholarship. (He had no interest in Honors Programs at any of the schools that he was accepted to and offered it to him. Son1 completed double major and a minor and Honors program, without a problem with extra work, but he was not an Engin major.

What is your intended major? By the way, if you start with honors, no one will force you to continue with it.

My intended major is computer science. I am very interested in it and I know it’s a great opportunity, so I would feel bad to turn it down.
I most likely will accept it and hope for the best
It’s comforting to be reminded that I’m not forced to stay in the program.

Hey, just recently got accepted.

GPA: 97.52

SAT out of 1600: 1570

decent amount of EC’s but nothing that impressive

Hope everyone got good news

@rachelrar Do the Honors College! Its a great opportunity! One plus is that you get to sign up for classes before anyone, and that includes seniors!!! You should have no problem doing the Honors College load if you are a good stat(and it looks like you are). Its only a few extra classes and some Fall community service.

Congrats @GrayHen !!! Its a great opportunity!
