UC and CSU

So I've been writing my personal statement for awhile now. Now that I am almost finish, I am questioning the schools I am applying to... I don't know if I would be able to get into my top 5. I have focused on my essay so much that I haven't studied for the SAT or ACT. I've taken both test once in my junior year. I received a 1490 on the SAT and a 21 on the ACT. I'm not sure if I would improve by much.

I want to apply to
1. UCLA
2. UCB
3. UCSD
4. UCD
5.UCI
6. CSUS
7. UOP

I'm hoping my extracurricular activities and GPA would make up for my scores. I'm not too sure though. I have a duel enrollment in a community college and high school ever since my freshmen year. I've received all As and Bs in both types of courses. I withdrew from one of my college classes my junior year and it is on my transcript with a W. My high school GPA is a 3.73 and my college GPA is a 3.62. However, when I apply my GPA would be bumped up to a 3.89. The highest GPA possible at my school is a 4.0. I am ranked 15/ 56 in my class. I will be receiving my associates degree a few days before my high school diploma.

I have committed my free time to community service. I have stayed with American Cancer Society for about 1 year now. I've volunteered at an elementary's kindergarten class for 2 consecutive years. I had somewhat of a paying job as a high school AVID tutor. I have also volunteered to tutor AVID students for free. I am part of the AVID program. I am part of NHS. I am part of key club and MESA. I'm the president of MESA and also Culture club.

My GPA is kind of low... but that's because the highest GPA we could possibly have is a 4.0. There are a bunch of people tied for valedictorian. I dropped a class and it's on my transcript as a "withdrawal". My SAT is below average and my ACT is average. My major is dealing with science since I'd like to go to med school... my majors are probably impacted. I haven't won any awards except honor rolls and perfect attendance.

I don't know if my list is reasonable and realistic.

I'm applying as a freshmen because I cannot apply as a transfer student unless I stay at the community college for another year but I don't want to be stuck there after high school.

UC’S and CSU’s (especially) are a numbers game. Your SAT/ACT will hurt your chances even with a great GPA.
First you need to calculate your UC/CSU GPA. Most schools will recalculate your GPA and give you extra points for Honors and AP classes regardless if your school does not. <a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU;

You really need to retake your SAT or ACT to be competitive for any of the UC’s.

CSUS: Match
UOP: High Match
UCI/UCD: Reach
UCB/UCLA/UCSD: High Reach

I need to consider more Cal States if you are unable to increase your test scores. EC’s and essays only count for a small part of your application. GPA and test scores are more highly weighed.

Good Luck

Does CSUS refer to Sacramento or Stanislaus?

Sacramento is an impacted campus, with several impacted majors. Stanislaus is a non-impacted campus with no impacted majors, so baseline CSU eligibility will result in admission. As a California resident with the a-g course work complete, a 3.0 HS GPA calculated by the CSU method is sufficient to meet baseline CSU eligibility with any SAT or ACT score (actually, the tests are optional if applying to a non-impacted campus and major with a 3.0 HS GPA). Of course, impacted campuses or majors will have higher thresholds based on the eligibility index calculated from HS GPA and SAT or ACT score.
