uc and transfer prereq

So if I were to apply for fall of 2014 to UCSD for computer science and I was missing the last two classes from my math sequence, would I be automatically denied due to not getting all the pre-req or do I still have a shot? And what about the other UCs how strict are they with completing every single pre-req for a major such as computer science?

Which two math classes? I’m applying to UCSD for Computer Science as well.

Math 20C and Math 20F, I’m just confused because I was told that it is impossible to transfer without completing all major pre-requisites. Yet there’s no guidelines anywhere on that.

I have a similar question, although i’m applying to Berkeley for physics and will have one math course outstanding.

I’m missing those two classes as well, but i could possibly take 20c in winter or spring.
Btw whats your overall gpa asdkj?

Hi, another UCSD compsci transfer here. After doing some searching I found this: [CSE Impacted Major Status | Computer Science and Engineering, University of California San Diego](http://cse.ucsd.edu/ImpactedMajor). It seems to me that UCSD does not screen for prerequisites for compsci transfers. The department becomes impacted starting fall 2015 to transfers, so we are probably fine. Completing more prereqs won’t hurt, of course.

DescartesQ, I saw that like a month ago, and I was very happy to read it. Would you know exactly how “open” it is for CS 2014 (average stats to be admitted)?

bumping…

it’s fine…I talked to a counselor about it too!!!
if u check Assist.org, a big difference between UCSD and other schools CS pre-req is that in UCSD it says:
Students are “advised” to complete these courses blah blah
but for UCLA, UCB, UCSB it says:
Students are “required” to take there courses blah blah
it will not get denied bcuz of that, but CS for UCSD is pretty competitive, so keep the GPA above 3.7!

Where can I find the prereqs for CS at UCSD/UCB/UCLA? I want to transfer from UCSC in a year or two :)

Since comp sci is competitive, should i apply if my gpa will be around 3.4-3.6??

That’s good to hear :D! And yes, from what I’ve seen from others posting here they got between 3.4+ and got in for computer science(Preferably like 3.7+).

Edit:
It looks like the freshman will be constrained by the impacted status, does that give us any benefits? Anyone know?
