Hello everyone. I need some serious help.
I applied to UCLA, UCSB, UCSD, and Cal only. I was sure I could get into UCSB. I didn’t get in anywhere and weight listed to only UCSB. I also somehow lost my ELC status right as the UCSD admiasion came out. After going over my application, I found that I accidently self reported a D in a regular biology class. Is this reason enough to appeal?
My stats: current 5.0 gpa, accumulative 4.3 GPA, 1800 SAT, 1950 super-scored SAT, 9 AP courses, a part time job where I was the only minor with a leadership position, and a plethora of ECs.
I’m reeling at the idea that I may be going to a community college next year. Is an appeal a viable option? Is there anything else I can do. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
There is no harm in trying considering you misreported the grade. I do not know if this is compelling information but if you do not try, you will never know. It is also unfortunate, as you have found out, that no UC is a sure thing so that is why you need to apply broadly. I wish you good luck and hopefully works out for you.
UCLA and Berkeley I believe accept appeals. The others, you’d have to ask the admissions office for each university.
