Cool, thanks.

What should we be doing for UCI while we wait for the decisions? Not sending in transcripts yet, right?

No, you shouldn’t send in your transcripts until after you are accepted, unless they specifically asked you for them. Other than that, just focus on your current classes and try to sit back and relax.

^ uci admissions fb page says beginning in April hopefully, they come out before

pshhh yeah, right, stay calm when decisions come out in a 1-2 months.

sixteendays.

almost, there.

I have always heard that it is sometime in April for transfers. I am planning to hear by April 15th or so and not think about it much until then.

sun is usually right. it will be rolling admissions. riverside surely sounds about right…because…its…Riverside.

Well, according to the acceptance threads on here last year, Irvine will probably starting rolling decisions out around the 9th of March and UCSD around the 19th of March. The rest of Feb and March is going to go by so slow…

extremely.

fifteenfifteen.

san jose state is taking forever to release their decisions.

edit

March 1st for San Diego State.

@Kittychen, what exactly is the countdown for?

I feel like once March starts, everything is just going to become a tense waiting game…

UC Riverside & UC Irvine are projected to begin releasing decisions.

& also because of your second statement in your reply. because thats exactly what happens, tense and anxiety, not only for the two schools, but for whats at last happening, what we have been awaiting all this time we have dedicated in school since we were children. the next two years are going to determine if we are good enough for med school, dental school, law school, MBA, B.A/B.S. degrees, etc. Many of us going off leaving our families and beginning to journeys, a new fun, bright future is awaiting out there for us, its just an amazing adrenaline.

even like on here, some of us know each other regularly, then once we start UC, i guess where gonna be too busy and have no use for this thread anymore, and that will be it. Perhaps i am too sentimental, but just saying, from the virtual to our individual, own lives have came quite a bit and it’s crazy just seeing all these changes on the verge of happening.

Some of us are not really that paranoid about decision or transferring, but there are also the other side of people praying and hoping to get in and some of us soon are going to be amazed to get into places we didn’t expect, and some are going to be getting rejected from places they really truly wanted, including myself. So some of us will be advancing and some will remain behind, on this board alone, somewhat sad, hoping for “next year”. I have read previous years posts and they speak about how it used to be so busy but then they advance and soon theres nobody there anymore to answer questions because theres a new generation of CC’ers now and they are the ignorant us, a year before, ha. I will make it in my best efforts to try to visit here more and check in and see how well everyone is fairing in their future academic endeavors though, and share my own.

Hi I would like some feedback on my stats if you folks have some time.

Major: Political Science

Applied for: Davis (hoping for) Riverside (i think ill get in?) SD (worth a shot haha)

GPA: 2.85

Past year and a half my GPA has been around 3.45 (Got on the Dean’s list twice) so I got the whole upward trend thing going. Reason my grades probably were not so good is I did the whole Middle College thing in highschool and didnt take classes as seriously as I should have (ended up with a bunch of C’s and B’s).

GPA for Classes towards major is roughly 3.15

All classes for my major will be completed this quarter
IGETC is completed.

Other factors:
Also have :
Internship semi related to major (since June 2011 to present )
Second job along with intership (at a bicycle shop (maybe that helps for Davis haha ) )?
SF Bay Area community college
Pretty much have been working since I was 15.
Seems as if UC Davis transfer applicants are down from last year ?
I applied last year and didnt get in since I did not have 2 years english completed
My essays were okay. I wouldnt say extremely well structured but I feel it was average.
Poli Sci is non impacted at Davis Correct?
I did go to an out of state college right out of highschool, I put those on the application I didnt do to well there (an A, C, D, W) Without those grades my transferable gpa would be around a 2.92 ish
Maybe I should start thinking about some privates/out of states?

mtBrider, wrong area of the forum. You might have a chance at Riverside, but definitely do apply to other universities as safeties.

KittyChen, I do believe that there are some people who come back to support the new CCers; those people are the ones who actually gained some help from the forum. Or even had some anxiety relieved by the “Chance Me-Threads”. An example is SMCguy; he helped me tremendously during the start of this most current semester. It is people like SMCguy who really bring valuable insight as they actually got accepted to the University they strove for, experienced that education and can give us somewhat of a judgment of what it was like.

shoot my bad sorry about that

uckittychen i also will be sticking around the forum since i do love helping out people with their academics :)

I wish you all and myself full rides. It’s also in my plan to graduate early so that’s a bit less cost of living. Any of you looking to getting out early?

@lookin4ward, LOL, thanks. I probably could have really used that book sooner. I’m taking the 6 week course for the winter and IMO 6 weeks is just not long enough to learn this stuff and the big I’m using is VERY vague about everything. Thanks though =]

@ iwillflyby
ok good. Yeah just send in your transcripts asap. Call the admissions office and they should be able to help you out.
