Hello, is the last day to submit your application due midnight on Nov 30th? Also, would I have to specifically state what my intended major is? Because, I will be applying to different majors for different UCs...

Thank you!!

Say for example my intended majors are math and sociology, somewhere in my personal statement, would I have to state the word “Math major” and “Sociology major”? Or could my personal statement just imply that I am interested in those majors? I am just worried that they won’t like the fact that I am not interested in one specific major…

Idk, I was thinking that too.

What is the problem with the setting they have in place? Whenever you choose a campus, you choose a unique major/alt. major to that campus. I am not sure what you are asking or need help with. Why would you need to label your intended major elsewhere from when you chose campuses.

No, you don’t have to explicitly state your major in your essay. A lot of people apply to different majors and manage to use a bit of creativity to include all of them. It’s easier if the majors are similar though or overlap in some way. I don’t really see how sociology and math are similar. If you can’t combine them into one essay you should pick the major you used for the schools who heavily weigh the PS.

You do not have to mention your specific major in the personal statement, but they are asking about aspirations, so mentioning some interests may be relevant. they know there is room for exploration.

Is that really the case? But the prompt specifically asks for “What is your intended major?”. So I could go on in the essay without ever having to explicitly state either of those is my major just by showing interests in the aspects of sociology and math?

No, you must state your intended major. The reason for this is because they don’t want undecided students taking up space at their campus.

However, only 4 UC’s use the personal statement for admissions purposes so you can do what you feel you need to, it’s due on the 30th tic tok.

And you’re doing a double major?? I would pick one and once there declare a double major.
