My Freshman Applicant son received the application verification email request on 1/2/14 at 11:45pm. He was asked to provide verification of his Student Government involvement as a class. He submitted his most recent Grade/Progress Report since semester doesn’t end until 2/6/14. Obviously, this is not a verification request for only transfer students.

Does anyone know if the UC’s send a confirmation email or an email stating that the item has been verified or not?

Has anyone heard back yet?

Has anyone received confirmation that their audit was approved or anything?

@2106Candles I haven’t received a word from them.

No has heard back yet? Its getting pretty late! I hope to hear soon, just to get this over with!

Are we supposed to get confirmation emails from them? I sent mine on January 6 and haven’t heard from them either. All applicants have until January 31 so I would assume they won’t look at it until after that date?

I called them today and they verified that they had my info. They confirmed receipt and said I was good to go. If you’re worried, just call them- I don’t think they plan to notify us.

I got a reply email from them: You will get notified once verification process is complete.

So, let’s just relax and let them do their job.

Still haven’t received notice. Anyone else get confirmation?

Still waiting for the email as well. I don’t believe anyone has gotten the confirmation email yet.

My son just received an email from the UC application center (about an hour ago) stating that the documents he provided have “fully verified the information provided in the application.” What is concerning about the email is the statement that follows, “Your application will now be reviewed for admission at the campus(es) to which you applied.” Seems to me they’re implying that the random 10% of applications which required verification have been left out of the decision process at each campus until now. According to an AskMrs.Sun post from January 30th, regarding the supplemental questionnaires going out at UCLA, she stated that, “UCLA should have concluded the freshman application review and separated the applications into three piles: accepted, denied, and additional information required.” Does anyone have any more information about this?

Your best bet to find the information you’re looking for would be to call someone directly working with the UC’s on this. I doubt many people will be able to give you more info because this thread is primarily composed of JC transfers. I’m sure your son will be fine! Good luck.

Re: my post above… My son emailed UC Admissions and just received a response which read:

“Thank you for message. All applications are reviewed with the assumption that the verification requirement will be made; however, a campus admission decision will not be released until the process is complete.”

Hopefully this info is helpful to anyone who may have had the same question (transfer or freshman).

@LNMomof2 - Yeah it seems pretty normal.

It’s like receiving financial aid at your campus, so submit your application (FAFSA) and about 10% of people are chosen by their college or university to verify the information provided whether that’s tax documents, proof of residence, verification of dependency status etc… In the meantime your college or university already has a decision in mind about how much you will receive and when, but they will not provide you their decision until all the things they want verified are verified, it’s common practice for the most part.

And now the waiting begins…
